AFPTM Certification Examination

Structure
AFP Certification Examination consists of around 90-100 multiple choice questions to be finished in 3 hours. Examinees must pass this examination in order to satisfy the examination requirement for AFP Certification.

Eligibility
You are eligible to enroll the AFP Certification Examination if you meet one of the following pre-requisites:
• Completed the AFP Certification Education Program; or
• Exempted from the AFP Certification Education Program through Challenge Status or Transcript Review

Examination Coverage
You are highly recommended to review the Examination Syllabus to get yourself familiarize with the examination topics and weightings. You may also refer to the sample questions from the IFPHK Study Guide for AFPTM Certification Examination to help familiarise yourself with the form and style of questions which you may see in the AFP Certification Examination.  

Frequency
AFP Certification Examination will be held FOUR times per year usually in March, June, September and December. You may refer to the Examination Time Schedule for details of upcoming examinations.

Grading
All questions in the examination are of equal marks. The AFP Certification Examination is graded PASS or FAIL.  Examinees who are unable to attend the examination will be regarded as ABSENT.

Re-examination and Time Limit
There is no limit on the maximum number of re-sit examinations that a examinee can attempt for the AFP Certification Examination.

Examination Results
Examination results are normally available within six weeks after the examination.  A notification email will be sent to examinees to notify them the release of examination results.

CFPCM Certification Examination

Structure
The CFP Certification Examination consists of two levels. CFP Certification Examination (Level 1) consists of around 75-85 multiple choices questions to be finished in 3 hours while the CFP Certification Examination (Level 2) consists of around 65-75 multiple choices questions to be finished in 3 hours.
Examinees must pass the two levels of examinations to satisfy the examination requirement for the CFP Certification.

Eligibility
You are eligible to enroll the CFP Certification Examination (Level 1) after you have completed or are exempted from Course 1, 2 and 3 of the CFP Certification Education Program (Level 1), PLUS you must be:
• an AFP certificant; or
• You are qualified to attempt the examination through Challenge Status
Once you have successfully passed CFP Certification Examination (Level 1) AND completed/exempted from Course 4 of CFP Certification Education Program (Level 2), you are eligible to enroll the CFP Certification Examination (Level 2).

CFP Certification Examination (Level 2) will be held TWO times a year usually in June and December. You may refer to the Examination Time Schedule for details of upcoming examinations.

The CFP Certification Examination is graded PASS or FAIL.  Examinees who are unable to attend the examination will be regarded as ABSENT.

Examinees are only required to re-sit the paper which they fail. There is no limit on the maximum number of re-sit examinations that a examinee can take for any one of the papers.
