AFPTM Certification Education Program

Candidates are required to complete a 120-hour AFP Certification Education Program with an Approved Education Provider in order to be eligible for the AFP Certification Examination.

The integrated education program includes the subjects of Financial Management, Financial Planning Principles, Introduction to Investment and Fundamental Insurance and Retirement. There is no expiry date of the education records, thus allowing flexibility for you to schedule your AFP Certification according to your own needs.

Exemption from the AFP Certification Education Program
You may qualify for exemption from the AFP Certification Education Program if you have met one of the following requirements:
1. Challenge Status: Bachelor degree in any discipline or certain professional credentials.
2. Transcript Review: Candidates who have taken comparable sub-degree courses in an accredited education institution may apply for transcript review to waive the education requirement.

 

CFPCM Certification Education Program (Level 1)

Candidates will be trained with skills in financial management, financial planning principles, investments, insurance, risk management, retirement, tax planning and estate planning. Currently, education programs are provided by the Approved Education Providers.

CFP Certification Education Program (Level 1) consists of THREE courses, each of 40-hour duration:

Exemption from the CFP Certification Education Program (Level 1)
You may qualify for exemption from the CFP Certification Education Program (Level 1) if you have met one of the following requirements:
1. Challenge Status: Master Degree Holders in Business/Economics or certain professional credentials.
2. Transcript Review: Degree Holders from accredited education may apply for transcript review to waive the education requirement.

Once you have successfully passed the CFP Certification Examination (Level 1), you are eligible to proceed to the CFP Certification Education Program (Level 2).

 

CFPCM Certification Education Program (Level 2) 

The CFP Certification Education Program (Level 2) consists of ONE course. Course 4 is a 40-hour program which focuses in real life financial planning practices and you will be required to submit a financial plan as part of your course work. To attempt the CFP Certification Examination (Level 2), you must obtain a PASS in this Course

Challenge Status: You may qualify for exemption from the CFP Certification Education Program (Level 2) if you hold a Doctoral degree in Business/Economics or certain professional credentials.
